Burnout Workshop by Learnest – Free Workshops & Mentoring for the LGBTQ+ Community

3rd February 2021 by Learnest

Burnout is real and lockdown is hard. This LGBTQ+ workshop looks at strategies for coping with exhaustion, healing from stress and building resilience.

What is Burnout?
‘Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands.’

2020 is over, but we’re still in lockdown and Covid-19 is raging on, and on, and on. This workshop is designed especially for the LGBTQ+ community and will focus on burnout and resilience to it.

During this 90-minute online session, you will learn more about your mind and body and understand the physical and emotional effects of stress and burnout. Together with members of the LGBTQ+ community, you will explore strategies and techniques to support your well being during this difficult time.

Host SAM HOPE – Sam is non-binary & bisexual activist, trainer and therapist. Sam has experience working with LGBTIQA+ individuals in a number of capacities over many years. Through Sam’s work, they have gained a rooted appreciation of oppression and minority stress and built links to many communities across the world.

LGBT+ Futures Programme: Intersections Fund

3rd February 2020 by Philip

We are very excited to announce a new small grants funding opportunity that opens to applications today (Monday 3rd February). Thanks to the generosity of an individual Donor, Consortium will be distributing a total pot of £20,000 in grants.

Applications will be open to LGBT+ non-profit groups, organisations and projects that support and improve the lives of LGBT+ people of faith, LGBT+ people of colour and LGBT+ women in recognition of the underrepresentation and higher levels of marginalisation and discrimination faced by these members of our communities.

Applications can be for any amount up to a maximum of £5,000 but it should be noted applications above £2,500 will be exceptional. We are keen to maximise this funding and fund as many viable projects as possible, so we expect the average grant amount awarded to be in the region of £500-£2,500.

Applications are now open and will close at 5pm on Monday 2nd March 2020. More details can be found here: www.consortium.lgbt/grantgiving/lgbt-futures-intersections-fund
