HCAW 2021 Awareness and Fundraising Event

We will be hosting a new event for HCAW 2021 on the 16th of October.

The first part of the event is raising awareness for Hate Crime and how and where to get help and support.

The second part of the event will be with live entertainment to raise money. There will be an online raffle with prizes including a meal for two at Clapham’s ARCH restaurant and Bar.

Summer Picnic with SuttonLGBTQ+ Forum

Join us to celebrate Summer after lockdown with a fun fab picnic at Crystal Palace Park.

Within government lockdown rules we will be hosting a picnic for up to 30 people at the wonderful Crystal Palace Park on the 18th July from 12.30 noon till around 4 pm (weather permitting).

This event is open to all the LGBTQ+ community, friends, family and allies.

LOL Strand Watch Party @ LFest Lesflicks Film Festival

Come join other lesbian & bisexual women for our LFest Lesflicks Film Festival Watch Party on Zoom to enjoy the LOL Short Strand. We’ll open a zoom for any LBTQ women to join us to share our love of lesbian film. The first 15 minutes is a general discussion and catch up, followed by 54 minutes watching these films. Then after the films, we’ll chat about these and other stuff. A great way to stay connected to our community! Make new friends from all over the world with Lesflicks!

➑️How to watch this film

We come together on Zoom, but we watch the series on our own devices so you will need access to Lesflicks to rent the title. If you are on an Pad/iPhone you cannot use Zoom and watch video at the same time due to something in the set up of Apple Devices. So you will need to leave the zoom whilst we are watching the title. We will let you back in!!!

The Zoom is free, but you will need to rent the film; the rental fee is Β£5.99 and you get access to the film for 3 days.

Sol Cafe Grand Opening / Baobab Women’s Project Book Launch

21st June 2021 by Solidarity Kitchen Cafe

Baobab Women met in person before covid at Elmwood Church, then on zoom after covid. They worked with community artists to create pictures and poems for the book.

We will open at 5pm with welcomes and networking, then have three speakers, and other contributors attending who will give brief talks and answer questions in a Q and A format from 5.30-7pm.

Books will be on sale, proceeds go to Baobab to support our ongoing advocacy work & pay speaker expenses.

Event working with Refugee Week Artist Millicent Chapanda, Zimbabwean singer and Mbira player- Music from 7-7.30pm.

Tasty vegan food provided by Sol cafe.

Covid policy: we will ask all attendes to have temperature taken on the door to check for covid, and ask people with a high temp to take a test – or you can photo a test you take at home 24 hours before and walk straight in.
