akt survey: your experiences with homelessness

If you’re lgbtq+ and have experienced any form* of homelessness while aged 16-25, and within the last five years, akt want to hear from you!

akt has launched a new survey with the support of YouGov to help shine a light on your experiences and help to make sure the voices of LGBTQ+ young people who’ve experienced homelessness are heard. The survey results will be used as part of a wider report, which akt will use to help support future LGBTQ+ young people who are vulnerable and facing or experiencing homelessness.

This survey is completely anonymous and covers topics including domestic violence, experiences of accessing services and levels of support from family members while experiencing homelessness and should only take about 10 minutes to complete. If there are things you have not experienced that are in the survey, or would just rather not answer, that’s absolutely fine. With your help, this survey will raise awareness of these important issues, and make sure that no young person has to choose between a safe home and being who they are.

As part of this research, akt will also be conducting a series of in-depth interviews with LGBTQ+ young people who’ve experienced homelessness. If you would be interested in taking part in these, please email [email protected]. These interviews will also be anonymous. to include in the report too.

It’s so important that your voice and your experiences are heard.

* By ‘homelessness’, we mean when someone does not have a home. Someone who is homeless may be rough sleeping and living on the streets, but they may also be homeless even if they do have a roof over their head.
