Consortium Brings Trans Groups Together to Explore Fundraising

Over a dozen member organisations & associates joined last week’s pre-AGM fundraising support workshop in Islington, London.

The event was organised by the Consortium’s Trans Organisation Network (TON) & London Engagement Project, and focused on trans-specific fundraising guidance.

Jamie from Gendered Intelligence shared their invaluable insights around crowdfunding and volunteer fundraising, and Maria, Consortium’s Funding Development Officer, answered general fundraising questions. Participants also shared their fundraising experiences and tips.

Martin, London Engagement Officer, said: “We are very excited that our London Engagement project is creating more events and opportunities for London-based trans groups. We will be also looking to consult with these specialist organisations about the gaps in services and challenges they face as part of our wider pan London mapping project.”

Shaan, the TON coordinator, added: “The Consortium Membership Insight reveals that a large number of LGBT+ organisations operate on less than £500 a year, among them many trans groups. This shows how important events like these are to make our sector more sustainable and resilient.”

We are now planning a series of roundtables and workshops and developing more training & resources for Members – both in London and across the UK – to help achieve this.
