Witney Pride is a community organisation in West Oxfordshire formed to provide visibility, educate and celebrate LGBTIQ+ people and their allies.

Witney Pride held it’s first Pride Picnic 25th May 2019. Windrush Radio entertained and the West Oxfordshire Fire Service incorporated safety information with fun games for both adults and children. Throughout the year various events are held including Halloween parties, Pub Quizzes and film screenings. A private online social group for over 18’s is where people can make friends, join in with games and post articles of interest. Further development of this online community during the pandemic, with additional online events, helped to reach out to those isolated by distance or circumstance. The Witney Town Council flies a rainbow flag during Pride.

Witney Pride continues

  • to build on the success of the 2019 picnic, to promote the visibility and vision of Witney Pride
  • to engage those who are already supportive in local community; both audience and businesses, especially small independent businesses as much as possible
  • to involve local performers/bands/acts as much as possible
  • to be available to and supportive of the local LGBTQIA+ community
  • raise awareness and to raise funds for the Community Organisation and its future events/goals
  • ACE IDEA – to provide; Acceptance/Celebration/Empowerment/Inclusivity/Diversity/Equality and Accessibility
