Trans Oasis Resources Community Hub (TORCH)

TORCH or Trans Oasis Resources Community Hub was set up via leadership of Oasis church and under the leadership of Stephenie Robinson who is known amongst Transgender community and former Chair of the National Trans Police Association until 2018 when the association amalgamated with the LGBT+ Network. Stephenie is now retired from a successful career.

TORCH was a blend of special interest group meeting once a month in a safe space for mutual benefit and support open to Transgender people over the age of 18. It blended faith with the Transgender position and aimed at demonstrating that Oasis community is a truly genuine and supportive church who welcomes everyone. It gave an opportunity to link in with oasis Open House which meets every third Tuesday in a month and is open to all LGBT+ people and normally has guest speakers on various topics of mutual interest to all.

TORCH had only just started its life when Covid-19 lockdown happened and it was decided to suspend activities until the Covid situation improved. Stephenie remains on hand to advise and assist and during the interim we recommend that new people consider joining Oasis Open House as a precursor before the TORCH relaunch. TORCH remains during this period as part of open house until it’s much hoped relaunch sometime in spring 2022.
