The Sunday Boys

The Sunday Boys

TSB

The Sunday Boys was formed in January 2016 by choral conductor and composer Michael Betteridge as an excellent, but open access, male voice choir for members of the LGBT+ community, as well as their friends and allies.

Since their formation the choir has premiered works by composers such as Philip Venables and Anna Appleby, as well as by Betteridge, and have collaborated with other artists such as poets Andrew McMillan and Rachel Mann.

In July 2017 they presented ’50 Years of Change’ – a celebration, and reflection, on the 50th anniversary of the Sexual Offences Act 1967 – at both the Pavillion Tent at Manchester International Festival (MIF) and Halle St Peters. We aim to encourage skills development in our members through singing but also through volunteering as part of the team that runs the choir.

We also provide a social experience for the members who engage with us and aim for musical excellence.
