Steph’s Place

Steph’s Place is an online magazine for the trans community and was launched By Steph Richards in the summer of 2020 to increase the visibility of trans people and fight for social justice and human rights. In the spring/summer of 2021, I was joined by my Co-Editors, Claire, Julie, Paul and Nicola and the website became “ours” – meaning control is now a democratic process by the five of us. Recently we have expanded our team to include a Podcast Editor & a Vlogger.

We are feminists, who call out violence against women and girls, fight for GRA reform etc. We are passionate about “the truth” and undertake numerous research projects including investigations into the EHRC, Trans health, Single-Sex Spaces, Trans in crime & prisons. We see it as our role to combat the “trans hostile” press with evidence-based articles.

We offer resource directories and online support. We achieve around 1,000 visits to our website every day and are now supported by a bank of guest writers.
