Pride in Tennis has been launched by a group of LGBTQ+ volunteers with the help of the NGB of tennis (the LTA).

Vision

Our vision is to make tennis in Britain an environment which is safe and inclusive for all LGBT+ players, coaches, officials, volunteers and fans to be able to exist as their authentic selves with confidence and without prejudice.

Strategy

Participation: To increase participation in tennis as part of a wider strategy to improve health and wellbeing for the LGBT+ community.

Support: To provide support for LGBT+ tennis athletes, coaches, officials and fans.

Network: To grow and support a network of LGBT+ inclusive tennis venues in Britain.

Visibility: To promote visibility through positive role models and national LGBT+ events in tennis through the media or governing body, and through work by our Pride in Tennis ambassadors.

Education: To provide education and guidance to Tennis Providers on how to make their tennis provision more accessible to LGBT+ participants.

Challenge: To work with the LTA and other key partners in British Tennis to open tennis up by breaking down barriers, tackling unconscious bias, stigmas, and stereotypes that exist in the game, and to challenge homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.
