Out For Sport currently provides a number of services to its members. These include:
A website which includes listings of member clubs and signposting information for LGBT+ people looking for information on how to get involved in sport.
Regular emails and meetings to share information and keep people informed of relevant events.
A programme of training events to upskill and inform the volunteers who run our member clubs. Recent examples of workshop topics are – Recruiting and Retaining More Women to your Club; Marketing your Club; Including People with Disabilities; Finance and Raising Money. London Sport funded the first three events, they continue with input from the OFS community.
An annual Sports Fair providing an opportunity for member clubs to socialise and promote their activities to a wide audience of interested people. The event is designed to provide people who want to join clubs with a friendly, informal and upbeat environment to talk and ask questions about organised sport in the LGBT+ community.
An annual Awards event which celebrates LGBT+ Sports. We showcase the best in grassroots Sport and give awards to clubs and individuals who have excelled in their sport or with their organisations. We add some glitz and sparkle to make a special evening.
A digital campaign called Out & Active to promote visibility of 50+ LGBT+ people taking part in sport. This was also originally funded by London Sport but continues without funding.
One off events to celebrate special occasions and provide links to the international LGBT+ community. Previous examples include working with the French Embassy to host a publicity event in advance of the 2018 Paris Gay Games. While in Paris OFS and the British Embassy also hosted a celebratory event for the teams.
