Marlborough Productions

Marlborough Productions (MP) is a Brighton-based creative production company working to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people through arts & heritage projects ensuring they are seen, heard, valued and understood in communities across the UK. We produce extraordinary LGBTQ+ artist led projects where diversity and inclusion isn’t an afterthought, it’s in the DNA of our work. We collaborate with partners across the UK, finding the widest possible audience for our projects.

Our programmes fight for social justice, challenging the discrimination and abuse that LGBTQ+ people continue to experience on a daily basis and in worryingly increasing numbers (a 10% surge was recorded in the UK in 2019 according to the Home Office). Our projects reach live audiences of 15,000 people in Brighton & Hove, 20,000 people nationally via touring and a further 50,000 online. Recent successes include:

  • Brownton Abbey, the UK’s only performance event specifically showcasing queer & trans artists of colour with disabilities, presented to critical acclaim at Brighton Festival and Southbank Centre.
  • New Queers on the Block, our groundbreaking national touring programme, developing audiences in locations across the UK with little or no track record of developing LGBTQ+ work.
