Hidayah is a nationwide organisation for LGBTQI+ Muslims. We run social and support groups in Manchester, London, Newcastle, Glasgow and Leeds to date. We also campaign for the visibility of LGBTQI+ Muslims and work on educational projects and research to highlight the voices of LGBTQI+ Muslims in the U.K. Its mission is: “To provide support and welfare for LGBTQI Muslims and promote social justice and education about the Muslim LGBTQI community to counter discrimination, prejudice and injustice.” Its vision is: “To ensure that the voices of LGBTQI Muslims are heard and understood.” Its objectives are:

  • To increase the visibility and voices of LGBTQI Muslims;
  • To raise awareness of the needs of LGBTQI Muslims;
  • To provide educational resources and projects to support LGBTQI Muslims;
  • To develop opportunities for LGBTQI Muslims to access welfare services;
  • To campaign to provide social justice for the LGBTQI Muslim community. Hidayah is a secular organisation, however its projects and activities are developed specifically for the needs of LGBTQI Muslims.
