Bristol Trans Portraits is a visibility and education project featuring the trans community in and around Bristol. I offer one free photoshoot each month to a trans/non-binary person, who is then also given a platform to talk about their experiences. This involves a feature page on the website, which includes the portraits and text written by the participant. It also includes a month-long feature on the project’s social media channels.

The project aims to educate those who are not well versed in transgender issues, while providing an empowering experience for all who take part. By providing positive visibility, and encouraging participants to talk about their experiences, I’m hoping to combat some of the negative media which keeps being produced about trans people.
