Black Queer Women UK

IMG-20220328-WA0047-a11f08d5

BQW was created by Black Queer Women for Black Queer Women from all communities in the Afro-Caribbean diaspora that live in the UK. We create a space to be our authentic selves and find strength in comradery. The experience of blackness and queerness can be isolating. Therefore, our goal is to create a community, to make us all feel less alone.

BQW creates a platform where black queer women feel welcome to speak, learn and meet others who are on a journey very much like their own. Our vision is to nurture an open-minded judgement-free environment wherein we support and uplift each other.

We deliver open discussions and host events about mental and sexual health, culture and relationships, and everything in between. We update the community about ongoing legislations and laws which affect the civil liberties of black LGBTQIA+ people in the UK and take action to educate on these matters where we can.
