Bisexual Research Group

Bi Research Group Logo-ca332309

We are a group of 35 researchers, educators, and activists working to better understand the bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, plurisexual, queer, fluid, and unlabeled experience. Founded in January 2020, the organisation works to connect researchers from various disciplines who study bisexuality to promote and improve this otherwise disparate area of research, and to increase the public visibility of these researchers so their work can have more impact.

To help connect researchers, we host monthly research meetings, publish academic work together, conduct original research which is funded by the ISRF, and in September 2021 we will host our first international bisexuality research conference. We also publish interviews with bisexuality researchers and activists on our website, alongside other bi+ resources, and disseminated these through our social media accounts. As part of our outreach, we also hosted our first (online) public event on bisexual research during LGBT history month in 2021 which attracted over 600 people and was sponsored by the Centre for Queer History at Goldsmith’s university. Because of this success, we plan to hold a week of online events around bi visibility day in September 2021. We are currently looking for sponsors to support our research, to help us fund our annual bi+ conference, and to help us pay for our bi+ public outreach events.
