In Leeds the Solidarity Network, with our NHS and local authority partners, have been awarded funds to deliver phase two of Healthy Communities Together (HCT). HCT is an exciting funding strand from the National Lottery Community Fund in collaboration with the Kings Fund; supporting systems change in health care services through VCS, NHS and local authority working together. We aim to move from transactional to mutual partnerships to impact and benefit marginalised communities of Leeds and improve poor health outcomes. The marginalised communities this project aims to ensure are involved in their health care are Gypsies and Travellers, Sex Workers, Asylum Seekers and Refugees and Trans+ communities. The Solidarity Network are: Leeds GATE, BASIS Yorkshire, LASSN and Yorkshire MESMAC.

We are seeking to appoint a Healthy Communities Together Project Support Worker – Leeds (15 hours).

Job Purpose: To provide a range of financial, HR and administrative services, to support the Leeds Healthy Communities Together Project.

In this exciting post you will work within a project team based at Yorkshire MESMAC, working closely with three partner VCS agencies as well as with Leeds City Council and Leeds CCG staff.  The project aims to reduce health inequalities experienced by marginalised communities.  This role will provide vital support, ensuring marginalised communities have the skills, knowledge and resources to be involved in the development of their health services

  • To provide support to the HCT Systems Change Coordinator in arranging, booking venues and using electronic booking systems and online video conferencing facilities for project learning events which engage health professionals and/or marginalised communities members.
  • To provide admin support for meetings both internal and external to the organisation including arranging dates and locations, preparing agendas, taking minutes, filing and the distribution of relevant papers, where appropriate.
  • To assist the HCT Systems Change Coordinator in the distribution and maintenance of digital devices and data packages to improve community engagement in the HCT project.  Including maintaining systems for recording distribution and data packages use.
  • To co-ordinate appropriate hire and booking of venues for the HCT project including YM Leeds office and in liaison with Solidarity Network organisations’, the Leeds CCG’s and Leeds city council’s estates staff.

 

Salary: NJC SCP 12-17 starting at £22,571 (pro rata for 15 hours per week). Contract is fixed term to 31st March 2025. Salary is reviewed annually. There is a 5% workplace pension (on completion of probationary period). This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS with barred lists check.
