LGBT HERO needs enthusiastic, passionate volunteers to spread the word about changes to voting rights by attending exciting queer events across the capital.
We’re talking to thousands of LGBTQ+ Londoners about the introduction of photo Voter ID and what this means for them. Join us and ensure that no queer Londoner loses their vote!
The introduction of photo Voter ID at polling stations uniquely affects our community, especially trans and young queer people who face particular barriers in acquiring photo Voter ID or getting it accepted.
This is where you come in: we’re running voter ID drop-ins and setting up stalls at LGBTQ+ events across London throughout November, December, and the early New Year.
We’re looking for volunteers to assist with drop ins, advise people at event stalls and help distribute our campaign materials. Every volunteer will receive a training session to get to grips with the new law and where people can apply for photo Voter ID.
To get involved email sam.ki[email protected] with your name and where you’re based.
This is an incredible chance to get involved in the democratic process and ensure our community doesn’t lose important votes.
