Birmingham LGBT is seeking to recruit a part time domestic abuse Group Worker for the Rainbow Project. The Rainbow Project is a new culturally competent group work programme for lesbian, bi and trans women who are survivors of domestic abuse. We are planning to extend the programme to develop modules for GBT men (gay, bi and trans) and the postholder will also deliver the programme to this cohort. The post will be supported by sessional group workers.

We particularly welcome applicants from those backgrounds, identities and lived experiences.
The successful applicant will join a motivated and enthusiastic team of domestic abuse workers based at the Birmingham LGBT Centre in central Birmingham.
The post is subject to an enhanced vetting and barring check and is open to women only as it involves running groups for LBT women who are survivors of domestic abuse. Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR), Schedule 9 (Work; Exceptions), and Part 1 (Occupational Requirements) of the Equality Act (2010) applies.
Terms and Salary:
- £25,668 pro rata 18.5 hours a week plus up to 5% matched pension contributions.
- Part time, 18.5 hours per week, with some evening and weekend work; 25 days pro rata annual leave entitlement.
- 1 years fixed term contract ongoing subject to funding.
