Who can apply

Human rights defenders, worldwide, advocating for the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.
Organisations working with a yearly budget of not more than £100,000
An organization does not need to be officially registered to be considered for grant support but all applicants must be able to document at least six months of activism and a fiscal sponsor based in their country of location that would be responsible for receiving money on their behalf and also monitor the effective use of the money.

Restrictions

The Trustees will not fund:
“Core’ grants to cover salaries of full-time staff.
Projects with health as a primary objective.
Projects supporting individual artists.
Applications from individuals for living and/or study costs.

Grant details

Applications will be considered by the trustees for basic organisational and administrative costs, including facilities, equipment, and communications.

The maximum grant award per year will be £5000 for an organization and £2500 for individual activists. They will provide mentorship and support for capacity building so that monies offered as grants are effectively and judiciously used by grantees

They will provide emergency grants for security, and when necessary, emergency relocation, to defend LGBT rights activists and organizations under attack or threat.
