Co-op Local Community Fund

Funding priority

You can make an application if your project:

  • helps a local community come together to save, build, fix or improve indoor or outdoor spaces
  • supports the mental or physical health of a community through wellbeing activities
  • helps people reach their full potential by developing their skills

Your project also needs to be in-keeping with Co-op’s values.

Who can apply

To be accepted you must have a project in mind that will benefit your local community. Many applications are from charities or local community groups, but as long as your organisation isn’t run for private profit you can apply.

Priority given to local charities and other organisations with an income of less than £1 million a year.

Restrictions

They won’t consider any applications which involve:

  • promoting any political activities or causes
  • promoting any religious beliefs (but we will consider projects led by religious organisations, if they’re for the good of the whole community)
  • exclusively paying salaries or other running costs
  • making grants to other people or organisations
  • projects that have already happened or will be finished before the giving period ends
  • projects that public authorities (for example, the council) are responsible for, by law
  • sponsored events
  • overseas projects
  • projects which, in our opinion, could harm the reputation of the Co-op or the Local Community Fund
