SAYiT announce their TDoR vigil, in collaboration with organisations and community groups from Sheffield at the Sheffield Winter Gardens on 20^th November.

There will be speakers, stalls, videos, performances and messages of solidarity and allyship. The vigil part of the event will be at 18:30.

Trans Day of Remembrance is held each year on 20^th November to commemorate those who have lost their lives to transphobia. The event aims to counter the anti-trans noise heard every day and show solidarity with trans people everywhere.

Hate crimes against transgender individuals in the UK have seen a concerning rise in recent years. The UK Home Office’s 2022 hate crime report highlights a stark increase of 56% in transphobic hate crimes in England and Wales. This marks the most significant annual rise since 2012.

This event is open to anyone wanting to pay their respects and honour the memory of those who have lost their lives to transphobia in the past year.
