Norwich Being Ready: Death, Dying and Bereavement Training Day

Led by GIRES, in collaboration with Hospice UK and Marie Curie, the Being Ready Project seeks to improve trans and gender-diverse people’s experiences of death, dying and bereavement care in England and Wales by developing and delivering high-quality, client-focused training to the relevant professionals.

Training will cover:

  • Introduction to trans and gender diversity.
  • Admin – data collection, the law and good practice.
  • End-of-Life and Palliative care experiences.
  • Death registration, including coroner involvement.
  • Care of the body of a person who has died.
  • Funerals and memorials.
  • Bereavement care.
  • Navigating conflict.
  • Signposting to appropriate services.
  • Safeguarding.
  • Inclusive policy.

 

Participants will also be given a learning resource which they can use as a reference in their workplace.
