elop’s highly anticipated professional counselling qualification – the Advanced Diploma in Integrative, LGBTQ+ Affirmative Counselling – begins this September and applications are being accepted now.

The Advanced Diploma is a 2-year, part-time course and is open to LGBTQ+ people and allies. It will provide the skills to work with all adults, plus has a specialist focus on supporting LGBTQ+ clients and providing LGBTQ+ affirmative counselling.

The course will cover psychodynamic, humanistic, and queer theories on gender; self and identity; relationships and attachment; human growth and development; and sexuality; and consider how ideas of deviance and otherness have influenced current opinion and attitudes.

Students will be learning in a Queer environment, one that welcomes thinking beyond the frame and is inclusive, supportive and co-created. Students will develop an understanding of each client and their position in the world, before co-creating a way to work towards therapeutic change.
