LGBTQ+ Asylum Project Worker (North East)

15-30 hours per week. £26,000 Pro Rata

Rainbow Home (North East England) is a Registered Charity: 1173782

We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to work with people who identify as LGBTQ+ who are seeking asylum in the UK and who are based in N.E. England.

Rainbow Home currently provides ongoing one to one support and group sessions for a growing number of LGBTQ+ people who are seeking asylum. We do not provide legal advice. We are looking for someone to support the CEO in sustaining and developing the service and provide day to day running of the project. The hours can be discussed at interview.

The successful applicant must have a good understanding of the barriers faced by LGBTQ+ people seeking asylum and direct experience of working within the health and social care system. The role is varied and involves working with multiple agencies to support members to meet their needs. You will need excellent communication skills, an ability to work alongside vulnerable people and manage sensitive information, plus the ability to work on your own initiative as this is a sole worker project.

Supervision and support will be provided by our CEO.

For an application pack, please email: [email protected]

We will not be able to accept CVs.

Closing date for applications: 9 am on 9th October 23

In person interviews will be held the following week in Newcastle, dates to be confirmed.

Please apply promptly as we may close early depending on volume of applicants.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Jill Hardie, CEO: [email protected]
