Bi Plus Community Picnic

You’re invited to the Bi Plus Community Picnic on 11/09/2021 in Hyde Park!

Pride in London may be canceled but the Bi Plus Community Picnic is still going ahead, offering a much-needed opportunity for the bi+ community, our friends and allies to spend some quality time together.

We will be meeting from 1pm onwards, just beyond Serpentine Bar and Kitchen, Hyde Park.

This event is brought to you by Biscuit, The Bi Survivors Network, BWithTheT, London Bi Meetup, and the Bisexual Index.

Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks, drinks, blankets to sit on, games, and flags to wave!

This event was originally planned as an alternative space for London’s bisexual community to celebrate Pride, after all bi+ groups pulled out of Pride in London in solidarity with Rhammel Afflick. In March 2021, Rhammel, a black bisexual man, resigned as Director of Communications for Pride in London due to systematic racism within the organisation.

Lois Shearing, director of the Bi Survivors network and BWithTheT, says: “We’re so excited to give London’s bi+ community a chance to celebrate and gather in a community-focused space. This is the kind of Pride event we as bi+ organisers would love to see more of; free from commercialism, focused on the needs of our community, and free for all attendees! It’s been a tough year for all of us, and we hope this event gives our bi+ family a space to relax and reconnect. We’re especially excited to be able to host this event during Bi Visibility Month!”

Libby Baxter-Williams, Director of Biscuit says: “The pandemic has exacerbated loneliness and isolation among bi+ people, so we’re thrilled to be back offline and providing a welcoming and relaxed real-life space for bi+ Londoners and their friends, partners and families. Grassroots organisers and activists have worked tirelessly over the last eighteen months to provide online spaces for bi+ people, but we’ve missed our real-life events, so we’re excited to be back and reconnecting with our big bi+ family.”
