The first ever virtual Wise Thoughts #GFEST took place between 9th and 21st November 2020. One of the highlights was the launch of new filmed stories of BAME LGBTQI+ people across the UK.

The clips are part of a Consortium led, Wise Thoughts managed collaborative project, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
‘Emerging with Pride‘ creatively gathers and centres marginalised/intersectional LGBT+ narratives to shape community priorities as we emerge from the pandemic.
Niranjan Kamatkar, artistic director of Wise Thoughts and Creative Lead on the project, said: “We are so proud to have been able to focus on diverse LGBTQ+ identities and stories from across the nation. We had already thousands of views and now we encourage the wider BAME LGBTQ+ audience to submit their stories!”
Shaan Knan, Consortium Trans Officer who helps coordinate this landmark project added: “Consortium is delighted about the successful launch and we are excited about continuing to work in partnership with Wise Thoughts, bringing creative expertise, experience of involving marginalised communities.”
