Outcomes Based Thinking
Thanks to a grant from the Connect Fund, Consortium has now published new resources for LGBT+ organisations wanting to learn more Outcomes-based thinking, and how this can then lead to generating new sources of income, including social investment. The Connect Fund has been set up to strengthen the social investment market in England to better meet the needs of charities and social enterprises. Known as the ‘Social Investment Infrastructure Fund’, it is a £6 million fund for grants and investments that Barrow Cadbury Trust manages in partnership with Access—the Foundation for Social Investment.

The resources have been developed as a result of in-depth work with several of our Members exploring how outcomes based thinking might apply to a range of organisations and what opportunities might exist for adopting this way of working.
Having published the LGBT+ Common Outcomes Framework last year, we are keen to encourage LGBT+ organisations to structure their work and services in ways that consider the real difference that can be made as a result and believe this will open up new funding opportunities for organisations.
We also recognise the need for voluntary organisations to think about the diversity of their income sources and are keen for organisations to be aware of all possible avenues of income. Social investment could be a helpful part of an organisation's income portfolio, particularly those with tradeable activities, and have complemented the outcome resources with social investment resources.
