Merton LGBT+ Forum

New merton logo (1)

The Merton LGBT Forum is a volunteer run organisation that exists to support and advocate on behalf of LGBT+ people in the London Borough of Merton. We work with the local authority and public and voluntary organisations. While an a-political organisation we will challenge discrimination where we encounter it and work to promote equality in all local service provision. Through our website we provide information on activities and events in the Merton and surrounding areas. We also provide links to other organisations offering advice, support and local social events with the aim of helping and strengthening the LGBT community in Merton. We are particularly keen to attract more local LGBT+ people who would like to become involved in the Forum and, in particular, to support work for older people and the trans community. We no longer host a Young Persons group but can refer to other services. We are supporting Merton’s first Pride event in 2020, with the Chair of the Forum also Chair of Merton Pride’s Steering Committee – and welcome anyway would like to volunteer, perform or otherwise assist in organising this event. Please contact us: it looks set to be an extraordinary event, set in the historic Merton Abbey Mills, close to Colliers Wood tube station.
