CONTROLLING CHEMSEX

CONTROLLING CHEMSEX is a charity created and run by professionals with long experience providing Chemsex support, many of whom have struggled with Chemsex in the past themselves. We are here to provide a new kind of Chemsex intervention to reinforce the support that is currently available, using new technologies to facilitate access to support for everybody, in order to make things as easy as possible for people who find it really difficult to access support, and respecting the fact that confidentiality is highly important for them.

CONTROLLING CHEMSEX. is not just a sexual health service, despite promoting sexual health; it is not specifcally an LGBTQ+ organisation no matter if the majority of the people who we support identify themselves as part of this community, and it’s not a generic drug and alcohol service despite supporting people with drug issues. CONTROLLING CHEMSEX is an organisation focused exclusively on the impact that Chemsex has in the lives of so many people who feel that they have lost control, however they understand what losing control means. This support is not based solely on abstinence; it’s for you if you want to stop, but it’s also for you if you want to cut down your drug use, and it’s also for you if you just want some information, or to explore if you want to change something or not.

Our support is for you:

  • If you can’t access any service that provides Chemsex support because there is nothing close to where you live, or you are not available when they are available.
  • If you have already contacted them but you think they are not for you.
  • If you can’t go to any service because you’re worried about the consequences, or what they might think or do about you, and this is preventing you from approaching them.
  • If you are transgender, or you don’t identify yourself as LGBTQ+, and you think that the services available are only for men who have sex with men (MSM).
  • If you can’t wait, and you want to do something about your drug use right now.

CONTROLLING CHEMSEX IS ABSOLUTELY COMMITTED TO HELP YOU. We are passionate, we understand this reality and we are not here to judge you, we are here to help you. We believe in compassion and care above any other considerations such as politics or data analysis. There is life after Chemsex even when that is impossible to believe, and that life can be a happy life: we are the living proof of it.
