Ray joined the Consortium Team in June 2022 as the National LGBT Partnership Stakeholder Engagement Officer. They work as part of the Health and Wellbeing Alliance, a partnership between the voluntary sector and the health sector in England, engaging with stakeholders across organisations to highlight and advocate for LGBT+ health inequalities and developing resources to raise awareness.
Ray has a varied and expansive background that includes working in community pharmacy, and further education, as well as freelance work as a writer, illustrator and designer. They are also an artist and facilitator, working alongside disabled, trans and African-heritage communities in Folkestone, where they live.
Aside from advocating for transformative approaches to healthcare and their ongoing practice as an artist, Ray occasionally finds the time to swim in the sea, write and read poetry, spend time walking in nature and (badly) play the flute.
