Who we are

United Pride Friends is a befriending and support service for people with autism and mild learning difficulties who Identify as LGBTQ+. We provide our befriending service with online social meet ups and events as well as in person group sessions and outings. We also wish to hold events and activities. The support we provide includes supporting our members on matters such as discrimination, homophobia as well as tackling these areas within support networks as well as care settings. We tackle these areas by making society aware of the challenges and difficulties faced by our community as well as providing training, workshops, discussions, challenges and making people aware of the areas we support. We will support our members with using social media platforms.

What we are looking for

At United Pride Friends we are looking for someone who will be able to assist me as well as our Board members on the running of our services. This will include supporting members on online Social events as well as meet up and outings. The main areas of assistance as well as supporting us to organise our organisation.

  • Putting together of promotional media campaigns on social and other media platforms.
  • Organising and planning of projects, events and social events.
  • Putting together training and workshops presentations.
  • Supporting Board and members at meetings, including online.
  • Running and organising socials, outings, and events, including online socials. This will also include fundraising events.
  • IT and admin skills.
  • Have skills of putting together promotional materials into pamphlets and promotional materials.

 

Requirements for position

For this position we are looking for someone how has understanding and knowledge of areas and challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community as well as difficulties faced by people with autism and learning difficulties.

The post holder will attend Board meetings and will need to be a signatory on United Pride Friends bank.

Experience

We are looking for someone with experience in the running of an organisation such as support services/groups. The position would require someone with a wide range of connections who is able to help us to grow United Pride Friends we wish to become a registered charity.

Our organisation is built upon a great support and advisory team and the post holder will need to be enthusiastic and positive person with a fun and friendly personality.
