Steering Group Members

Location: Birmingham
Closing Date: 9th Jul 2022
Pink Sou'westers

Employment Type: Volunteer

Pink Sou’westers is a Birmingham based LGBTQ+ social network, organising two to three inclusive, affordable and accessible events or activities each month. These include a mix of on line and in person activities around Birmingham and the West Midlands. We have been working to combat isolation and provide a variety of non-scene activities since 2008, and welcome all LGBTQI+ people regardless of age or area of residence although we appeal most to the more mature members of the LGBTQ+ community.

We are self-funding with the welcome addition of occasional small grants to help keep participant costs low, and free for LGBT+ asylum seekers and refugees. We are run by a very small group of Steering Group members who are very keen to find two or three additional volunteers to join them and contribute to researching, organising and promoting our activities. The Steering Group meets every 4 – 5 weeks at a time to suit members, currently online but may return to occasional in person meetings in the future.

We are looking for enthusiastic members of the LGBTQ+ community to join our small team; they should have good communication, organisational and social skills, along with a basic level of IT skills and access to a computer or smart phone. Ideally we would like to identify potential new Steering Group members who can be formally appointed at our AGM on 9th July.

Please get in touch with [email protected] to find out more.
