Can you help us provide valuable support to London’s over-50 LGBTQ+ PoC/BAME people?
The key focus of this role is to assist the BAME/PoC Engagement Officer with admin support such as: data entry, spreadsheet maintenance, helping with emails and mailouts, updating listings and helping to organise meetings and occasional day trips. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 programmes is essential.
Additionally, you may also like to assist the BAME/PoC Engagement Officer with the running of the MV meetups and encouraging peer support amongst attendees, depending on your availability, flexibility and skill-set.
As a part of the team, you will be able to develop your role in relation to the operational needs of the organisation, your own skills and aspirations and the needs of our members.
What you’ll do:
Carry out data entry onto our online Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) and keep spreadsheets up to date
Assist with the launching of online meetups and managing the waiting room; responding to comments where appropriate
Assist with electronic mailouts using our database
Liaise with attendees to collect and assess data and for monitoring purposes
Provide a warm welcome to MV members and initiate group discussion/activities
Work alongside other volunteers (all of whom are people of colour)
Ensure that our more isolated and/or vulnerable members feel included
Raise the profile of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic/People of Colour communities using your own networks where you feel comfortable doing so; alternatively, a willingness to develop such a network
