We are looking for people to volunteer facilitating a group focused on bi- and pan- people over the age of 50 and our interests and issues.
Bi the Way is a monthly group bringing together bi and pan people over 50 to discuss bi-specific issues, take part in group activities and get to know each other in a supportive environment. It’s one of our longest-running groups and the only one of its kind in London, and we need your help to keep it going.
We’re looking for volunteers to either share or support co-facilitation duties: this would involve working with at least one other volunteer to attend and facilitate the monthly Bi the Way meetings, and would be a time commitment of at least 2 hours a month to facilitate the meeting and a few more hours to arrange activities and do some networking.
No previous experience or qualifications are necessary; knowledge or connection with the bi/pan community in London would be a plus, but a willingness to learn about it is just as good!
Previous activities have included seated yoga, group singing, “gender neutral” ballroom dancing and bi-focused talks on gender identity, coming out, hate crime, bereavement, ageing and media representation, and we invite volunteers to bring their own ideas and initiatives to the group. Since lockdown we have moved our group online, so anyone interested in this role should be comfortable facilitating meetings over Zoom, or similar conferencing apps. We hope to return to face to face meetings in the future, although we would still like to be able to invite people to participate remotely. If you think you could contribute to and enjoy this supportive environment, then please apply for this role.
