As Opening Doors’ Dementia Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for running our in-person and online dementia social support groups and manage the dementia volunteer team.
In addition, you will also help develop events and groups that are accessible and safe for people with dementia, cognitive impairment or memory loss and their carers. You will also promote Opening Doors’ dementia services externally and work collaboratively with other key stakeholders.
You will:
- Have a background of working in dementia service delivery or support setting
- Have an understanding of the diversity and needs of LGBTQ+ people over 50 living with dementia, cognitive impairment or memory loss and their carers
- Have an understanding of the impact of dementia on LGBTQ+ people over 50 and their carers
- Have experience of setting up and facilitating groups

Hours: 14 hours per week – we are actively applying for additional funds for this post to increase the hours
Salary: Grade 6: £32,418 – £34,644 pa incl. London Weighting (pro-rata)
