For LGBT+ young people who might feel unsure about their next steps in life, Proud Futures offers support, skills, community, and qualifications. Proud Futures consists of a three month-long programme of workshops delivered by our youth workers, which covers topics such as workplace rights (including LGBT+ specific rights); practical skills, including CV writing, time management, and communication and presentation skills; the chance to develop confidence and capacity through peer-sharing, fun, and games; and sector insights sessions from LGBT+ professionals. All participants are then supported to take part in work placement opportunities tailored to their needs and interests, and to enrol on accredited external training courses.
After the success of the first roll-out of Proud Futures we will be running the programme again in 2021-22, and are recruiting an organised, motivated, and energetic youth worker to support its delivery. n this role, you will work in a two-person team alongside Proud Futures’ current Youth Work Coordinator. Together, you will coordinate the development, delivery, promotion, and evaluation of a dynamic and accessible youth work programme, tailored around the participants’ needs and skills and designed to support them into meaningful work, education, or volunteer opportunities.
