Intercom is delighted to announce that we will be recruiting for not one, but three new posts through the expansion of our services. These will be:
– A full-time LGBT+ Practitioner role based in Plymouth, and a part-time LGBT+ Practitioner role based in Exeter, both working to provide professional one-to-one emotional and practical support for individuals of all ages throughout Devon and Cornwall who are struggling with their gender identity and/or sexual orientation and the related impacts on their lives. This will include but not be limited to giving clients space to talk through and explore their gender identity / sexual orientation; address prejudice and discrimination at home, work, or school; and give clients support to engage with community groups and other services.
-A full-time LGBT+ Domestic and Sexual Violence Advisor (IDSVA), based in and working across Devon. The role will support victims of domestic and/or sexual violence, with a focus on sexual health as well as providing trauma stabilization techniques for those who are experiencing complex trauma. Training will be available in trauma stabilisation interventions as required. The role will encompass provision of direct support as well as advising and informing outside agencies through the delivery of training and networking.
