We have an exciting opportunity available for people with a background in administration who have a passion for equity for all. akt are looking for an Executive Assistant to support our Chief Executive with administration and work alongside them on a range of projects. Salary: £28,000 full time, 35 hours per week (28 hours per week pro rata will be considered)

Reports to: Chief Executive (Deputy Chief Executive in their absence)

Status: Permanent

Location: Manchester (this role will initially involve remote working from home until government guidance changes); occasional travel to London office

job summary:

To provide administrative support to the Chief Executive (CEO), and other members of the senior management team and Trustees. The Executive Assistant will also work alongside the CEO on specific long and time limited internal and external focused projects.

key tasks:

  • Manage CEO’s diary
  • Complete administrative tasks for the CEO, which will require a good knowledge of Mac and Microsoft Office based packages
  • Work alongside the CEO on external and internal focused projects
  • Provide administrative support to the DCEO and Board of Trustees, as agreed with the CEO
  • Coordinate and administer board meetings for 12+ Trustees and Board sub committees attended by the CEO
  • Complete administration for the CEO’s expenses
  • Organise CEO travel and accommodation supplying clear itineraries
  • Support the Chair and senior managers on occasion, when requested
  • Take on other additional projects, as directed by the CEO
  • To undertake the reception function for internal and external people seeking accessing the CEO’s office

performance management:

Performance in the role will be assessed against key performance indicators and other targets relating to the organisation’s business plan.

other responsibilities:

  • To represent the akt appropriately and effectively at all times
  • Comply with akt’s policies, procedures, management and monitoring systems
  • To organise and participate in some events out of office hours, e.g. fundraising and publicity events
  • Other duties commensurate with the nature of the post
