LOCATION: Galop’s office in London, N7 6PA (Note: post holder may initially have to work remotely from home dependent on Covid situation)

About Galop

Galop is the LGBT+ anti-violence charity, providing advice, support and advocacy to LGBT+ people who have experienced hate crime, domestic abuse and sexual violence. Galop also supports people who need help with the criminal justice system and is engaged on a strategic level to ensure issues affecting LGBT+ communities remain high on the agenda of commissioners, decision-makers and non-specialist service providers.

About this role

The LGBT+ Domestic Abuse Caseworker will join Galop’s LGBT+ Domestic Abuse service team and will provide advice and support to LGBT+ people experiencing domestic violence and abuse. The role will advocate for LGBT+ victims/survivors including survivors with multiple needs.  The ideal candidate will have experience of advising/advocating for victims/survivors of domestic abuse. Currently the service is operating remotely, though this may be subject to change in the coming months.

This role is initially a 12-month fixed term contract.

Please note that there is a genuine occupational requirement under the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2003 for this post. It is considered essential that post holders have experience of LGBT+ needs, and the impact of discrimination as the service is run for LGBT+ people experiencing domestic violence.
