GiveOut is an award-winning international LGBTQI community foundation enabling our community and corporate allies to give in one place to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI) human rights activism worldwide.
Across the world, LGBTQI people face appalling human rights abuses for being themselves. Courageous activists are doing vital work to improve the lives of LGBTQI people, but they lack resources and funding is fragile, especially in the Global South and East. The LGBTQI community and allies want to provide support, but it is not always easy to do so. GiveOut’s purpose is to help address this urgent need by providing a platform for them to give tax efficiently in one place to fund LGBTQI human rights activism worldwide. We pool the donations we receive to provide grants to LGBTQI organisations globally, ensuring they have more of the resources they need to defend our communities, tackle inequality and campaign for lasting change.
Communications and events are at the heart of our work, as we bring together our supporters and grant partners as a community, in person and online. Our events are mainly supporter focused, with the goal of either fundraising or thanking our existing donors for their support. Beyond meetings, briefings and events, we keep our supporters updated through a regular newsletter and email updates, our website, and social media channels.
The Communications and Events Coordinator will be a key member of GiveOut’s small team, helping to plan and coordinate GiveOut’s external communications and events, designing our reports, brochures and newsletter, and updating our website and social media channels. The role coordinates closely with the rest of the small team, reporting to the Executive Director. The Communications and Events Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring GiveOut’s communications and events are innovative and engaging, while having the opportunity to develop new skills in these areas, learn about LGBTQI human rights activism around the world, and gain experience working for a young international charity.
