LGBT+ Family Support Worker

Location: Brighton
Closing Date: 17th Oct 2021
AllsortsYouthProject

Employment Type: Employed

We are looking to recruit an experienced and knowledgeable Family Support Worker who can devise, develop and deliver a range of services and interventions to support parents, carers and the wider families of LGBT+ and, in particular, trans and non-binary children and young people.

You will join a growing, professional and passionate team who support LGBT+ and exploring children, young people and their families and challenge exclusion, prejudice and discrimination in all areas of their lives.

Our Family Support Service began approximately eight years ago with a very small Parents/Carers Support Group.  Over the years we have seen an increasing demand from parents/carers and other family members requiring support, information, advice and guidance.  Our capacity to respond has always been limited as this role has not, until now, been funded and has been covered by our committed staff team on top of the other work they carry out at the project.  We are delighted to now be in a position to appoint a dedicated Family Support Worker and are excited by the potential for the expansion and development of this service.  The successful candidate will have scope to help creatively shape this service.

For full details of the role, and to download the Job Pack and Application Form, please visit our website. The Job Pack provides details of where to send your Application Form (note: this should be emailed or posted to us directly).

Term: Fixed until 30th September 2022, subject to passing probation (subject to funding thereafter)

Hours of Work: Full Time (37 hours a week)

Application Close Date: Monday 18th October by 9am

Start Date: ASAP
