A panel for trans women to come together and share experiences during LBT Women’s Health Week.
This past year has been difficult for everyone, but the crisis has affected people from different communities in different ways. For International Women’s Week ODL has teamed up with Trans London to discuss how trans and nonbinary people, and in particular people from those communities on the feminine spectrum, over 50 have been impacted by everything that has happened. We would like to invite members of our communities to join us to discuss both what the impacts of the Covid crisis has been on our communities, and to suggest if and how organisations such as ODL and Trans London can offer support as we navigate our way out of the current crisis and in similar situations in the future. We want to hear all your stories and suggestions.
Opening Doors aims to ensure that LGBTQ+ people can age with dignity, security and fun in their lives. We do this by providing services and support to LGBTQ+ people over 50 and by working with specialist partner organisations to improve the lives and reduce social isolation amongst LGBTQ+ people over 50 in London and beyond.
TransLondon is a discussion/support group for all members of the ‘trans’ community, whatever their gender identity (or identities) and whatever stage in their ‘transition’ they have reached (if at all). However, all members must themselves be trans-identified or ‘questioning’.
The discussion will be facilitated by Chryssy Hunter from ODL and Martha Dunkley from Trans London
