Speak Out!

LBT women and non-binary people over 50 are invited for a cuppa and an information chat about the mental health.

We know that the last year has been challenging for us all – and that the pandemic has affected us all differently. On International Women’s Day we have teamed up with MindOut, a specialist LGBTQ mental health charity. We want to offer LGBTQ+ women over 50 from around the UK an opportunity to meetup and share their experiences and learnings: what have you found most challenging but also what has helped you to manage? What would help you in the future? What services can organisations like Opening Doors and MindOut develop that would be most helpful?

Opening Doors provides services and support to LGBTQ+ people over 50, including telefriending, zoom meetings and support to carers and those affected by dementia.

MindOut offers support provided by and for LGBTQ people with experience of mental health issues including: advocacy, advice & information, counselling, peer support, befriending, online support, group work, suicide prevention and training for service providers.

Brought to you by the National LGBT Partnership and Opening Doors London as part of LBT Women’s Health Week 2021.
