Inter Faith LGBTQ+ Discussion

Join us for the first of many multifaith events where we will be discussing what it means to be a person of faith and LGBTQ+.

The theme for our first event is ‘mind, body, soul’ and how they are impacted as an LGBTQ+ person of faith:

  • Mind – a focus on mental health and wellbeing.
  • Body – a focus on healthy eating and exercise.
  • Soul – a focus on spirituality, in the form of faith, religious experiences and belief.

Discussing how our gender and sexual identities interact with one or more of these concepts, and how both LGBTQ+ and their allies can support the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ individuals.

  • Reconciling faith, gender and sexual identities.
  • LGBTQ+ persons of faith navigating LGBTQ+ spaces.
  • Discrimination within the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Finding commonalities between different LGBTQ+ faith experiences.

Discussion Format:

We will have speakers from each of the LGBTQ+ charities introducing the main topics and then we will break in to smaller groups to have more focused discussions on each of the three main topics and then come back together to share some of our more interesting/poignant findings.

Who is this session for?

We welcome any LGBTQ+ people from any religion or faith, who would like to add to the conversation in a positive and constructive way.

All donations are gratefully received and will be equally split across the LGBTQ+ faith groups involved:

Hidayah LGBT UK, KeshetUK, Sarbat LGBTQ+ Sikhs, House of Rainbow.
