Disability History Month: In Conversation with Parapride

Join Hidayah and Parapride as we discuss the challenges facing disabled individuals within the queer community.

In honour of Disability History Month Hidayah welcomes Parapride to discuss the challenges facing disabled individuals with the queer community today. Parapride – Pride In Everyone – works to ensure that all members of the LGBTQ community have a fun and inclusive experience. We hope to support this mission statement by inviting Parapride to take the stage and share insight and individual experiences of living with a disability within the Queer community and what more can be done to ensure it is an accessible and welcoming space for everyone.

This week we will be joined by Mike Holroyd. Mike identifies as a Gay Man and is registered as blind, he currently works as a Community Worker for the Royal National Institute of Blind People in Scotland. With a background as a teacher, a Director of Music and a Lay Pastor of an LGBT inclusive Church in Bath, England it is Mike’s passion to promote equality, peace and compassion.
