Census Campaigns Strategy Webinar for LGBT+ Sector

The upcoming UK Censuses will be asking about sexual orientation and trans status for the first time. This is a huge step forwards that has come about in part due to tireless campaigning from LGBT organisations and individuals. As the LGBT sector we have an important role to play to encourage our communities to fill out the Census. To ensure that our messages are able to effectively reach our communities it important that we get together to ensure we have a co-ordinated campaigning strategy that is supported by evidence.

To help achieve this the University of Birmingham and LGBT Foundation are hosting an event to bring together people from across the LGBT sector in the UK to come up with some key campaign strategies to encourage LGBT people to fill out the census. This will involve discussing the Census and its importance, looking at findings from previous census campaigns and a range of workshops and facilitated discussions.

This will be held 13:00-17:00 on Thursday 28th January.

Please email [email protected] if you, or a colleague, would like to attend. If you are unable to make the whole event please feel free to attend the sections you are able to.
