I have applied to make sure the views and access needs of Deaf lgbt plus people are considered in various grants that seek to empower and support all in the lgbt plus community.

I was the Chair of Deaf Rainbow UK from 2018 till 2021 - a real source of pride I will keep with me forever.

I worked at Consortium for a short time to look at the needs and situation of 700+ lgbtiqa groups across intersectionalities. The findings were used to develop this fantastic initiative that many groups should benefit from.

As a non-binary and disabled Chief Exec of a cancer charity, I wanted to support this grant and its applicants to help uplift their work and support their impact.

As a community organiser, I know how big of a boost funding brings to grassroots groups and projects, but also how much extra strain complicated admin puts on the organisations.

These people are doing the most with very little. And there's a terrible burnout culture, especially among activists, community and art workers, so I hope to bring attention to how important it is to fund access and collective care for people doing the work as well as those benefiting from the projects.

I’m also looking forward to seeing all the fantastic ideas LGBTQIA+ folk are putting forward for funding.

I wanted to be a part of the D/deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent equity panel as I have noticed an enormous overlap between this community and the LGBTQ+ community, and wanted to be involved in the opportunity to support organisations which acknowledge this.

I see this as the start of a lifelong career supporting this intersection, and am really excited to be on board!
