LGBT+ Futures: National Emergencies Trust Fund

LGBTF-Grants1_3
NET Logo
Please note: We have been overwhelmed with requests from this funding stream and therefore this fund is now closed for applications, except those organisations based in Wales or Northern Ireland.
We recognise there is more funding needed for our LGBT+ sectors. Consortium is working hard to identify new opportunities to bring in additional funds.

Thanks to the National Emergencies Trust, a total funding pot of £350,000 is available to LGBT+ non-profit groups, organisations and projects. The funding is available to address the additional needs of LGBT+ people and communities most adversely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and to support and strengthen LGBT+ organisations that have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

There are no deadlines for this fund. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until all the funding has been awarded.

We want this funding to get where it is most needed. If your organisation needs additional support or guidance to be able to submit an application we can go through it with you.

As the grants are awarded for immediate responses and support to organisations, individuals and communities in need as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Grants are for short-term work only and all funds awarded through the programme must be fully spent by 31 May 2021.

For support with your application please email: grants@consortium.lgbt

Who Can Apply?

UK based non-profit groups, organisations or projects that work with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + (LGBT+) people are welcome to apply.

Organisations applying must have Objects in their constitution specifically outlining their support of LGBT+ communities and/or be clear in their public facing materials (e.g. website) that their existing work proactively engages LGBT+ people or communities.

Your work with LGBT+ people or communities should be a significant and sustained aspect of your work.

You do not need to be a Member of Consortium to be eligible to apply.

Previous Futures Fund grantees and current Intersections Fund grant holders are eligible to apply

Organisations must be fit for funding. This means having good governance, appropriate financial management in place and high standards of safeguarding for staff, volunteers and those using their support or services. As part of our application checks organisations are required to show they have the following:

  • A governing document e.g. a constitution
  • Two or more unrelated trustees, board members or directors
  • Able to provide a correspondence address
  • Relevant Safeguarding & Diversity & Inclusion Policies
  • A bank account in the organisations name, or be able to nominate a registered charity that will hold a grant in trust for them

If your organisation needs support to ensure that you have the correct governance, policies and procedures in place, get in touch with our grants team on 020 7064 6500 or email grants@consortium.lgbt.

We want this funding to get where it is most needed. If your organisation needs additional support or guidance to be able to submit an application please get in touch - we are here to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

We aren’t experienced making applications, can you help us?

We have tried to keep our processes as simple as possible, but if your organisation needs support at any stage please get in touch with our Grants Team on 020 7064 6500 or email grants@consortium.lgbt

We want this funding to get where it is most needed. If your organisation needs additional support or guidance to be able to submit an application we can go through it with you.

What do you mean when you say you welcome work supporting those LGBT+ people and communities that are underrepresented and/or subject to higher levels of marginalisation?

We are committed to ensuring this funding reaches organisations working with people and communities with intersecting identities.

To support this, we have ringfenced a proportion of funding for BAME people/PoC LGBT+ work. We are keen to reach organisations working with these communities.

We are keen to ensure that any organisation which needs this funding is able to access it. If you need support to go through the application process, or need to apply via a different format, please contact our Grants Team at grants@consortium.lgbt

How will you be assessing Grants?

Once an application is received it is assessed for eligibility and checked against the criteria laid out in the Guidance. It is then prepared for the LGBT+ Futures Fund Grants Committee who will discuss it and make a decision.

If your application is not complete, or you have failed to send the correct supporting documents we will contact you to make sure your application is complete.

We are based in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. Can we apply?

Yes! This funding is open to organisations right across the UK.

We have a grant from the Intersections Fund pot. Can we apply?

You can but it will need to be for work that meets the criteria for this programme.
